Yvette Saddik Jimenez
Before starting her own practice, Yvette was a Staff Attorney at Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County where she represented clients on a full range of family-based immigration matters and represented clients before Immigration Court. Yvette facilitated community outreach efforts and presented “Know Your Rights” workshops to the immigrant community.
Prior to Catholic Charities, she joined the ACLU, Drug Law Reform Project in Santa Cruz, CA., where she worked as a Legal Research Assistant. She provided legal support to a nationally based civil and criminal litigation team focused on combating racial disparities in drug law enforcement incarceration. Yvette collaborated with a national field organizer in supporting and mobilizing community members affected by the litigation.
Yvette is a graduate of the University of San Francisco, School of Law, where she received her J.D. During law school, Yvette partook in the Criminal Law Clinic, where she represented adult and juvenile defendants. She conducted several misdemeanor trials in the San Francisco Superior Courts. Yvette also received her B.A. in Political Science from San Jose State University.
Yvette is a daughter of Egyptian and Mexican immigrant parents. She was raised in Inglewood, California. She knows firsthand the struggle that immigrants experience in this country. Growing up in an economically disadvantaged environment, she realized that not all people have equal access to basic resources due to language, cultural and/or economic barriers. This led her to pursue a career as an attorney and become a “voice” by advocating for individuals in such a position.
Yvette is a prestige member of the following Groups/ Associations:
